Jacky's Group of Companies has announced its foray into the UAE's education sector by launching the Anisuma Training Institute, which will help executives and mid-career professionals prepare for senior management positions.
The announcement is a tie-up with the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIML), which will result in the flagship General Management Program for Executives (GMPe).
"At Jacky's we have always felt the importance of education at all levels," Mahesh Chotrani, assistant vice president of Jacky's Electronics and founder director of the Anisuma Training Institute, told Khaleej Times.
He explained: "In fact, each year we nominate candidates from our company for executive education programs. We feel strongly about the need to give back to the society. In UAE's burgeoning educational sector, there's a growing appetite and appreciation for quality education, and with education being so close to our heart, venturing into education was an obvious step for us. We also felt that given our vast and valuable experience in the UAE business set up, we can help those looking for opportunities in career enhancement, assist in creating and fine-tuning startups, and generally provide managers with an understanding of the current business environment."
The 22-day long intensive program will be spread over nine months, and will be conducted on weekends with 17 days in Dubai and five days in IIM Lucknow campus. The program has been designed to inculcate strong conceptual frameworks in business and management Skills. The program has also been designed to adapt to the business practices in the region, and will offer professionals a holistic overview of business and help them connect the dots between the various aspects of business management. The program will also assist entrepreneurs to fine tune their businesses by offering them better understanding of management and business principles.
The certificate program is open to all nationalities who have minimum seven years of professional experience and have earned at least a Bachelor's degree. The first batch of GMPe- IIM-L in Dubai starts on March 21, 2018, with a batch of 32 participants, and will be concluded in November, 2018 at the IIM-L Campus.
Chotrani noted that there are plans to introduce more management programs, namely, Leadership, Sales and Distribution; Financial Management for non-financial background professionals; and Strategic Management.
"In terms of business ventures, the UAE is a fertile ground, a magnet for job seekers," said Prof. Rajeev Kumra, programme director at IIM -Lucknow. "However, as markets keep evolving, mid-career professionals need to keep abreast with the latest knowledge of, and techniques in the industry. The nine-month, one-day-a-week, GMPe program fits in nicely in this scheme of things, allowing managers to learn business and management skills essential to move ahead in their career. As more individuals armed with practical education, that is relevant to current business climate, gets absorbed in the industry, it will certainly evolve further." - rohma@khaleejtimes.com
