Tourist accidentally climbs mountain instead of going to hotel

A drunk tourist in Italy ended up climbing the side of a snow-clad mountain instead of going back to his hotel. The Estonian man, known only as Pavel, got so drunk while vacationing in Cervinia, an Alpine resort in the Valle d'Aostaregion of northwest Italy, that he took a snowy street which led him to a ski run.
According to Italian news source La Stampa quoted in Travel and Leisure, Pavel assumed he was walking on the road to the hotel and did not realise he was climbing up the mountainside between 2:00 am to 3:00 am. 
He managed to walk up the road in freezing cold until he found a local bar called Igloo, located about a mile and a half above sea level.
Fortunately, Pavel was able to break into the bar and take shelter there from cold in the dead of the night. A search party had been dispatched to find the missing tourist however he was discovered by the bar staff the next morning sleeping on one of the bar's benches.
The tourist has not commented on the incident.
