A brilliant all round show from Mohammad Naveed helped Advantage Motors beat Willows Cricket Club by seven wickets and clinch the UAQ-Ramadan T20 Bash- Season1.
The tournament, which is organized by the Umm Al Quwain Cricket Club, was held under the supervision of the Emirates Cricket Board and played under the auspices of the Ajman Cricket Council and Domestic Cricket Development Committee.
The night tournament saw a successful end with the teams and officials praising the event while asking the Umm Al Quwain Cricket Club to host more such night tournaments. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Willows Cricket Club opener provided a great start with Adnan Khan smashing a 19-ball 42 with the help of six boundaries and two sixes.
Qais Farooq added a 24-ball 20 consisting of three boundaries while Fahad Tariq made a brisk 28 from only 18 deliveries supported by two fours and a six to further consolidate Willows Cricket Club innings.
Ahmed Shaukat faced 19 deliveries to hit 38 peppered with five fours and a six while Ahmed Raza managed 10 from 14 balls before Willows Cricket Club were all out for 159 in 20 overs. The score could have looked better but for a great spell in which he claimed four wickets from his four overs conceding 23 runs. Chasing a tricky target, Advantage Motors were off to a brilliant start with opener Rohan Mustafa, who has had a good tournament so far, blasting 54 from 31 deliveries. His innings was studded with six hits to the fence and two boundaries.
Zawar Farid gave him company for a brief while scoring 16 from 17 balls before Yaseer Kalim arrived to score a 10-ball 18 including two boundaries.
But it was Rinku Kumar and Mohammad Naveed who ensured they stayed till the end to guide their team past the target. Naveed earned the man of the match for his superb knock.
Mohammad Naveed showed a lot of aggression as he fired six boundaries and two sixes to power to a brilliant 19-ball 41 while Rinku Kumar hit 20 from 11 deliveries including two fours and a six.
Some amazing knocks were played during the tournament with Haroon Ahmed of Multiplex International scoring the highest with 165 from 65 deliveries.
The fastest century came from Hafeez Kalim of Chargers facing ony 32 deliveries while Maqsood Hussain of Zulekha Cricket Club faced 16 deliveries to score the fastest 50.
Hafeez Kalim of Chargers was declared the best batsman while Mohammad Amir Shahzad of Malik Contracting claimed the best bowler award.
