With his famous stepfather Tommy Fleetwood on his bag, Dubai’s Oscar Craig shoots a promising first round 69
Legend Al Pacino makes a welcome return to screens in comedy-drama Danny Collins. He plays a eponymous former breakout rebel musician-turned-sell-out schmaltzer and it looks great. Although Rod Stewart may not think so.
Treading a fine-line between uplifting and vomit-inducing (and managing to pull it off) the multi-millionaire Danny receives a letter from John Lennon he was supposed to get early in his career in the mid-70s. The words resonate and he forgoes his latest sell-out Big Band covers tour, the private jets and fast cars in order to write an original song for the first time in 30 years. Reconnecting with his estranged son in the process, the story may not be the most incisive, but Pacino’s performance will carry you through.
IMDb gives it 7.5 and Rotten Tomatoes has it at 78%.
