After months of debate and speculation, it seems that superstar friends, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have averted the clash at the box-office this Eid.
According to media reports in India, Salman's wrestling drama, Sultan, and Shah Rukh's gangster film Raees will not be releasing together on Eid. Producers (Excel entertainment) of the SRK starrer, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar have moved their film to January of 2017!
Given the massive box-office draw both stars command at the box-office, both teams were apprehensive about the business, of either films, being affected.
Times of India posted the joint statement issued by the 'Raees' trio:

"It was not an easy decision to move the film. We understand that this film is highly anticipated. However, a movie of such magnitude requires the appropriate showcasing and therefore, we have decided to shift our release date to January 26, 2017."
At one point, the film was contemplating a September release but would have clashed with another Excel production, Baar Baar Dekho, and John-Varun starrer Dishoom.
Earlier this year, Sidhwani had shot down rumours of postponing the release:
Set in the 'dry' state of Gujarat, Rahul Dholakia's Raees traces SRK's character's journey from that of a bootlegger to a politician. The film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a cop and Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, debuting in Bollywood.
It is being reported that this is the first time King Khan has postponed the release of a movie, but it could be that since his recent films have not done well while Salman's movies have been breaking records at the box office, Shah Rukh wants to avoid the clash and give each movie breathing space at the box office.
In recent months, SRK was also particularly concerned with his film clashing with Ranveer-Deepika starrer Bajirao Mastani - however Dilwale managed to stand its ground at the box office.
Shah Rukh was also concerned about the clash with Salman on Eid and had said that he intended to discuss it with his friends Salman and producer Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films.
