Sanjay Leela Bhansali's nearly decade long wait to make his magnum opus, 'Bajirao Mastani', was worth the wait as the love story bagged the top awards Friday night at the 61st Filmfare Awards, in India's metropolitan, Mumbai.
Considered as the "Oscars" of India, the event was co-hosted by the inimitable Kapil Sharma, superstar filmmaker Karan Johar and megastar Shah Rukh Khan, the evening witnessed exciting performances by Ranveer Singh and SRK among others.
While Bajirao Mastani won Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor (Male and Female) awards - the critically acclaimed Piku took home 5 awards, mostly in the Critics Choice categories.
Bollywood had a great 2015 with some amazing movies and breakthrough performances from the young guns - 2016 also promises to be a happening year for the largest film industry in the world, with exciting performances expected from the Khans and the new stars.
