The Big Clearance Sale is part of Dubai's annual Retail Calendar, which was launched in December 2016. The calendar contains the full programme of anchor retail activities being conducted and promoted at a city-level including shopping related festivals, promotions and seasonal offer periods, mega-sales and clearance events, exclusive retail experiences and activations.
Saeed Mohammad Measam Al Falasi, Executive Director, Retail and Strategic Alliances, DFRE, said: "As an internationally renowned shopping destination, Dubai holds several retail events every year aimed at offering the best value and engaging retail experiences for shoppers and visitors. The Big Clearance Sale offers discerning shoppers the opportunity to refresh their wardrobes with the season's hottest trends and new styles while providing participating retailers an excellent platform to clear stocks before the arrival of a new season. Further, since this event coincides with the spring vacation for schools in the UAE, more people will have the opportunity to shop for amazing offers.
"The Big Clearance Sale is also ample testimony to the excellent collaboration between Dubai's government and private sectors in developing strong retail events that have led to Dubai being ranked only second after London as a city that has the largest collection of international retail brands. Such events also aim to enhance Dubai's position as a year-round tourism destination offering unique shopping experiences," Al Falasi added.
The shopping rewards just do not stop with bargains from brands. As part of the excitement at The Big Clearance Sale, every visitor will be given a 'Visit and Win' raffle coupon that will be entered into a daily draw, offering a prize of Dh5,000 in cash to two winners each. In addition to this exciting raffle, shoppers who spend Dh300 at the event will be entitled to a 'Shop and Win' raffle for a chance to win the grand prize of a Jeep Wrangler Sport that will be announced on the final day of the event. The Big Clearance Sale is sponsored by Emirates NBD.
