The Indian High School, Dubai, is a legend in the making, as it is in the service of educating children for decades. It also has the honour of being the first expatriate school in Dubai. The school now has three campuses in Dubai, at Oud Metha, Garhoud and Silicon Oasis. The school's Oud Metha land was granted by late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the former Ruler of Dubai. Established in 1961, the English medium school is run by a Board of Trustees. Its vision is exemplary and the basic intention is to churn out productive, liberal and well-versed citizens.
An effective learning environment with all the ingredients of scholastic excellence is the hallmark of this great school. Thousands of graduates from this school have successfully joined the mainstream of professionalism and excellence, in their respective fields, to date. This is why the school's proud faculty claims that their mission is to build desirable character traits, such as dependability and trust, as well as guide the students with learning difficulties in a unique and splendid manner.
At the same time, the school and its management are conscious of the host country's dynamics and culture, and thereby educate and nurse students to further the sense of fraternity and collaboration of values and mindsets in a better way. This environment-conscious policy of the school is what makes it exceptional and outstanding among its competitors and contemporaries. The IHS believes in building bridges, and is a success story of the UAE-India relationship.
Apart from expatriates, foreigners who are interested in pursuing Indian curriculum are also welcome to enrol their wards at the school. From KG1 to Grade 12, there is no looking back on the path of child grooming and harnessing talent. The school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, is duly recognised by the Ministry of Education, Dubai. Students appear for the All India Secondary School Examination (Grade 10) and Senior School Certificate Examination (Grade 12), as per its syllabus. The school is a proactive member of Dubai Quality Group, and has acquired ISO: 9001 and ISO: 2000 certifications. It is also a recipient of the Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished School and School Administration twice (2002 and 2005).
The school as of today has more than 15,000 students, and is never short on extracurricular activities and other child-grooming activities. It boasts one of the best infrastructures, and its discipline is second to none. It provides a level-playing field and an equal opportunity to all of its wards to excel, and establish themselves as the leaders of tomorrow. This is also part of its fundamental objective for which the school was founded.
The Dubai-based regulatory authority for quality education, KHDA, rated The Indian High School as "Outstanding" for the fifth consecutive year. Earlier, it was marked in the category of "Good" schools. The school's articulate faculty, and one of the best off-school transportation system along with an apt administrative network makes it the ultimate destination, and a preferred choice of parents and patrons for their wards.
