They are believed to have sexually exploited the woman for a month from February by intimidating and locking her up in a room in a flat in Naif where they ran a brothel.
The victim, a 31-year-old Indian, said in the investigation that she had been duped by the accused and another man back home. She had been a widow since 2005 and was working as a maid to provide for her two children. That was when she was contacted by a man in her home town and offered a maid’s job here for Dh800 a month.
When she came to Dubai in February, she was picked up from the airport by the accused and his accomplice. They took her to a flat which they said would be her workplace. When the accused learnt that she knew nobody here, he let her keep her mobile phone to stay in touch with her children.
They took her passport and visit visa and told her that she would have to work as a prostitute. The defendant told her to work for him for three months until she paid him back the cost of her visa and travel ticket.
She had sex with an average of three to seven men a day in the room. When she would resist, the accused would yell at her and threaten to sell her to other men who would exploit her for five years. He would say that she would not be able to go back to her country and see her sons.
The money was collected by the accused and she was only allowed to keep the tips.
There was also another Indian woman who was being sexually exploited, the woman said.
About one month later, the victim contracted a disease due to her multiple sexual relations.
She asked a man with whom she had paid sex, for the police number and her location and address. Then she contacted the police and provided them with her address.
