Exclusive footage from behind the scenes of the 'Race 3' shoot in Abu Dhabi has been released today on the twofour54 YouTube channel.
The video features on-location interviews with the cast and crew, including Bollywood icon Salman Khan, as they reflect on the experience of filming the latest instalment of the Bollywood blockbuster franchise in the Emirate earlier this year.
The action thriller is the latest major international production to be shot in Abu Dhabi, filming at nine locations over 23 days. The exclusive behind-the-scenes footage shows the stars at Abu Dhabi landmarks such as Emirates Palace, Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi, Emirates Steel, Nation Towers, Falcon Aviation, Leaf Tower, Mussafah, Liwa Desert, and Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. Leading Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor used Emirates Palace as his personal residence during the shoot. The star felt very much at home as it was his third visit to the hotel.
Abu Dhabi is becoming the go to location for action with renowned Hollywood stunt director Tom Struthers returning to Abu Dhabi after working on Tiger Zinda Hai' last year. Struthers again relied on the help of the UAE Armed Forces, working closely with them for the exciting action sequences.
'Race 3' features incredible machines, including a helicopter from Falcon Aviation, a Bugatti Veyron and Ferraris, to shoot high-octane action scenes as they race through the Liwa desert under Struthers watchful eye.
The setting for the action is an integral part of the movie, as Anil Kapoor explains: "The scale that Abu Dhabi has got, the sand dunes, they look very cinematic, they look absolutely beautiful. The action scenes look even more special.
The crew also benefited from the expertise of the UAE Armed Forces, who supplied a Blackhawk helicopter, Oshkosh trucks, NIMR military vehicles, and Humvees for the production.
Meanwhile, twofour54 provided full production services as well as the support of its Government and Travel Services department. Four interns also benefited from the insight and experience of working on the development. The production also benefited from the 30% rebate on production spend in the Emirate from the Abu Dhabi Film Commission.
'Race 3' is the third film in the popular thriller and was produced by Salman Khan Films & Tips Industries Ltd. It had its cinematic release on June 15, 2018 and is one the hottest Bollywood films of the summer.
It is the fifth Bollywood movie to be shot in Abu Dhabi, following 'Tiger Zinda Hai', 'Dishoom', 'Bang Bang' and 'Baby'.
