Popular Kannada actor Chandrashekhar, popularly known as 'Edakallu Guddada Mele' Chandrashekhar, passed away during the early hours of January 27.
He was 63 and suffered a massive cardiac arrest, leading to his death.
His Bengaluru based daughter shared the news with media. Chandrashekhar shifted to Canada after marrying dancer Sheela in 1984 but came back to Kannada cinema in 2004.
He directed and acted in Poorvapara and continued shuttling between Bengaluru and Canada doing few supporting roles.
"I spoke to him yesterday night when he was shifted to hospital. He only said he had slight pain, but I got a call around 3.30 a.m. saying he had passed away," she said while addressing the press.
His last rites were conducted in Canada.
