It's Christmas and if you have no grand plans of celebration, you might as well get cosy in your blanket and run for a movie marathon. Apple has just announced its list of five best-selling movies on iTunes during the holiday season. If you have missed any of these movies, start streaming now.
Number one is none other than...
1. Elf
Released in 2003, the movie features Will Ferrell (Buddy) who wreaks havoc in the elf community due to his size. He is raised as an elf at the North Pole and later sent to the US. The movie was directed by Jon Favreau.
 
2. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Directed by Jeremiah S. Chechik, the movie is about the Christmas plans of the Griswold family that turn into a big disaster.

3. Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas
The movie is an American Christmas comedy-drama film directed by Ron Howard. Released in 2000, it was the first Dr. Seuss book to be made into a full-length feature film.

4. Home Alone
Released in 1990, Home Alone is a comedy film directed by Chris Columbus. It's about how an 8-year old troublemaker, played by Macaulay Culkin, protects his home from burglars during Christmas.
 
5. The Polar Express
Based on the children's book by Chris Van Allsburg, The Polar Express is about a young boy who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole. The movie features Tom Hanks, Chris Coppola, Michael Jeter.
