Al Wahda maintained a perfect Arabian Gulf Cup start as they defeated Dibba 2-0, at Bani Yas Stadium in Group A's on Sunday.
Al Wahda started on the front foot when Khalil Ibrahim controlled the ball up the right flank and went past Dibba's defender before sending an accurate ground cross to Mohamed Al Hammadi, whose first time shot crept into Abdulla Sultan's net in the 19th minute. Just three minutes before the halftime whistle, Ibrahim turned from producer to scorer, as he cleverly converted Isamail Al Zaabi's defence splitting through pass, making it 2-0 for the Clarets.
Substitue Yahya Al Ghassani nearly added his side's third goal of the night in the 65th minute when he advanced up the left flank and dribbled skillfully past Sultan, however, the youngster's low strike was cleared from the goal-line by the Sailors' defender.Following the win, Al Wahda top Group A table with the full mark from four games. Dibba occupy the fifth spot with three points, having played three games only.
In another match, Bani Yas scored a 2-1 away victory against Kalba on Sunday. Abdullah Hassan cancelled out Mana Al Baroud's 29 minute opener goal for Kalba in the 39th minute. Pedro Conde then snatched the winner for the visitors in the 82nd minute.
