Real Madrid's Welsh star Gareth Bale hobbled off with the recurrence of a calf injury after scoring his 11th goal in eight games as new boss Zinedine Zidane's dream start continued with Los blancos winning 5-1 against Sporting Gijon on Sunday.
Bale had been in the best form of his Madrid career since joining from Tottenham Hotspur three years ago as he opened the scoring and teed up Karim Benzema for Madrid's third.
However, he pulled up moments before the half-time whistle and was replaced for the start of the second period by Jese Rodriguez.
Bale was sidelined for over a month earlier in the season with a similar problem.
Zidane's men built on their 5-0 thrashing of Deportivo la Coruna last weekend by scoring four times inside 18 minutes against relegation threatened Sporting with Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema both scoring twice.
