On the directives of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the Khalifa Foundation is continuing the campaign 'UAE Response to Syrian Families and Affected Lebanese'.
There is an estimated 100,000 Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
An official source at the foundation said the campaign, overseen by the Humanitarian and Developmental Attache at the UAE Embassy in Beirut, would be continued in the Saadnayel area and other northern Lebanese provinces, the Al Kharroub region and Central Beqqa area.
The source said the campaign would cover about 24,285 Syrian and Lebanese families at a cost of Dh6 million, adding that it aims to meet the requirements of displaced people in winter.
"Each family will get a food parcel, cleaning materials, blankets and winter clothes for different age groups," added the source. - Wam
