Traffic jams clogged roads in parts of Dubai on Friday evening.
According to a tweet by the Dubai Police, a traffic jam on Financial Center road and around some of the city's major malls led to the closure of entrances.
Entrances to Dubai Mall, Mirdif City Center and Emirates Mall were closed.
It is noteworthy that residents are making the most of the last weekend - before the holy month of Ramadan starts - with Dubai Tourism's exciting three-day Super Sale, that began on Thursday. Over 250 brands are offering shoppers 30-90 per cent off on an array of merchandise.

Major brands across Dubai's shopping centres are offering deals and bargains, including Mall of the Emirates (MoE) and Dubai Mall among others.
The police haven't linked the congestion to the ongoing sale rush, but motorists are cautioned to check traffic updates before heading out and take alternative routes where possible.
However, Mall of the Emirates took to Twitter to caution residents about the 'super sale' rush:
