The Executive Council of Abu Dhabi has issued Decision no. 44 of the year 2017 regarding the increase of taxi fare in Abu Dhabi. The meter starts at Dh5 during the day and Dh5.50 at night.
The charge is Dh1.80 for one kilometre when the car is moving and 50 fils per minute when the car is not moving.
The charge for car reservation during the day is Dh4 and the charge for reservation in the evening is Dh5.
The morning shift is from 6am to 10pm and the night shift from 10pm to 6am. The decision was issued by Dr Mubarak Ahmed Al Muhairi, General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. In airports, the metre for a van starts at Dh25 and a sedan at Dh20.
The minimum fare on the metre is Dh12.
