UAE to get 722 new school buses

The UAE will get 722 new buses to meet the growing demand for school transport in both public and private schools for the academic year 2015-2016.
Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education and Chairman of Emirates Transport, approved the purchase of the buses recently.
Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman, general manager of Emirates Transport, said the new buses would cost Dh180 million, "emphasising Emirates Transport's commitment to ensure the highest standards of safety, security and convenience of students".
In terms of seating capacity, 479 of the buses can accommodate 30 students and the rest, 60.
Emirates Transport buses transport 230,000 students attending 724 government and private schools across the UAE daily. The company employs 5,000 drivers and 5,500 transport and safety supervisors. - Wam
