Sharjah - The Ruler of Sharjah takes interest in the issues of the fishermen and resolves them so as to motivate them to sustain this traditional profession for generations to come.
This order came during a telephone conversation with Waleed Al Sayegh, CEO of Sharjah Assets Management, via the direct line programme broadcast live on Sharjah Radio and TV on Wednesday.
Al Sayegh said that the Ruler of Sharjah takes interest in the issues of the fishermen and resolves them so as to motivate them to sustain this traditional profession for generations to come.
The management has taken a number of steps to support them in accordance with the leadership's instructions. It is also reviewing a plan that involves buying surplus fish from the fishermen in the emirate and selling them through a company. This will have a positive impact on the fishermen, he added.
