Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, inaugurated the new UAE Embassy headquarters in the Greek capital of Athens.
Shaikh Abdullah and Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias also raised the UAE flag outside the building and unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark its opening.
Karolos Papoulias, President of the Hellenic Republic, received Shaikh Abdullah and his accompanying delegation at the Presidential Palace in the capital. During the meeting, Shaikh Abdullah highlighted the importance of bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in various fields, like the economy, energy, and investment.
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras also met Shaikh Abdullah, during which the latter conveyed the greetings of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the Greek Prime Minister.
