Men played an integral part in Emirati women's accomplishments, noted Reem Al Hashimi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Chairwoman of FCSA.
She was speaking during the FCSA's book launch Emaratiyah ... UAE's Inspiring Women that documented the inspiring journey of 24 Emirati women.
Al Hashimi highlighted that men and women complement each other, rather than compete with one another, towards achieving greater heights for the country.
"The Emirati woman has proven her presence in every field, but she would not have done so without her father, brother or husband. And a man would not have reached where he is if it was not for his wife, mother or colleague."
"A woman achieves with a man by her side protecting her, pushing her forward, listening to her and guiding her. During this stage, we should not forget that we have partners, including out husbands, brothers and colleagues who will work with us to build a beautiful future."
She told Khaleej Times that she believes the future holds more for Emirati women. "The Emirati woman is capable, and now she has the freedom of choosing whatever field she wants to be a pioneer at. With our leadership's support, she will surely reach new heights in the future."
With the "giant leap" women have taken in their professions, Al Hashimi said: "We will always look for higher and more important accomplishments."
She highlighted that women empowerment has always been one of the key indicators of a nation's social and economic progress and development.
