Though only 1,700 contestants were expected to chip in, the organising committee is all set for the initial and final tests with competent four subcommittees to better streamline all procedures as accurate as possible.
"The big number of competitors this year, which hit 3,220, is an indication of the growing popularity of the local Award that provides all participants with all moral and financial support them."
Winners of the Award are to go home with more prize money this year after the organising committee decided to raise the award from Dh720,000 to Dh1.95 million.
