A Pakistani laundry driver denied in the Court of First Instance on Monday a charge of molesting a 10-year-old boy at his home while his parents were away.
According to public prosecution records, the 24-year-old driver went to the boy's house on December 12 last year, and met the Filipino boy. He asked him whether there was anybody else at home before touching and hugging him against his will.
"I told him it was just me and my older sister. He put the laundry on the chair before coming very close to me," the boy said. He recounted how the driver stood very close to him, touching his body.

The boy asked the driver to leave and then sent a message to his father on Facebook. He added that it was the first time the driver behaved in such a way towards him.
The boy's father, a Filipino civil engineer, 48, said his wife called him to reach home.
"She told me that our son had a problem. In the meantime, I received a message from him on Facebook telling me about the laundry driver's strange behaviour. He also told me he did not want that worker to come to our house again.

As soon as I reached home and asked him what was wrong, he started crying. He told me that the accused kissed him on the cheek and hugged him and touched him inappropriately," the father said.
The father then filed a complaint against the driver.
A copy of the message sent by the boy to his father was enclosed to the case file. It read:

"The laundry man did something strange to me which I did not like. Don't let him come again please. It is very weird."
The boy ended his message with an emoji of a crying face.
The court will release a ruling on February 27.
