Dubai - In court, the driver denied the charge and claimed he was away when it allegedly took place.

A driver, who allegedly sexually assaulted a 19-year-old boy at knifepoint, stood trial on Thursday in the Court of First Instance.

According to prosecution records the 31-year-old Pakistani man took the complainant to the rooftop of the building, where he stayed, and forced himself on him after threatening to kill him with a knife.
In court, the driver denied the charge and claimed he was away when it allegedly took place.

As per prosecution records, the incident happened on October 15 and was reported to Al Muraqqabat police.
The complainant, who is a worker, said that he had met the accused on the same day of the incident.
"It was about 5:00 pm when I saw him near my place in Hor Al Anz. He said he would always notice me as I passed".
They hanged out together and had tea until 9:00 pm. They exchanged their mobile numbers.
"At 11:30 pm, he called me to meet. I went out and saw him outside my building. He then suggested we go to the rooftop of his building," he told the prosecutor.

There the complainant was shocked to see the accused brandishing a knife and threatening him.
He said he wanted to have sex with me and asked me to take off my clothes.
"I felt scared as he threatened to kill me with the knife if I did not do what he wanted".
The complainant was then sexually assaulted.

At 10:00 pm the following day, he filed a complaint against the driver at Al Muraqqabat police station.
"We received the complaint and shortly later found that the suspect had left the country. We issued a circular against him," a policeman said during the investigation.

The accused was arrested at Al Ghuwaifat border point on November 1. "When interrogated, the officer revealed, the accused confessed he had sex with the complainant but claimed it was consensual for Dh50". The officer added that the defendant claimed the complainant was used to do that for money. The driver was then put in detention. 
The trial has been adjourned to January 12.
