India's Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) will organise two IT shows in the first quarter of 2016 to promote the government's 'Make in India' drive. The ESC expects a significant presence from Middle Eastern countries, including the UAE, at the events.
India's exports of computer software and information technology enabled services (ITeS) during 2014-'15 is estimated to jump more than 15 per cent to $97 billion compared to $84 billion in 2013-'14 whereas electronics hardware exports was to the tune of $6 billion.
"India is the leader in software development and ITeS. It will soon become the favourite country for sourcing electronics goods and an attractive destination with conducive policies and infrastructure for investment in electronics manufacturing," Kamal Vachani, ESC's regional director for the Middle East, said.
Vachani informed that around 90 per cent of India's software and ITeS exports is with the US and Europe, with the former accounting for the lion's share at 60 per cent.
"We at ESC are pursuing a policy to empower the Indian IT exporters to go up in the value chain by exporting high-end software and complex solutions to traditional markets and to penetrate into markets like Japan, Latin America, Africa, Saarc and the Middle East, etc.," he added.
The ESC will organise the second edition of India Electronics Expo on March 17 and 18 in New Delhi which will be a buyer-seller meet between Indian electronics manufacturers and buyers from various countries, particularly Latin America, Africa, CIS, Asean and other parts of the world, said Vachani.
The ESC will also hold the India IT Show in Mumbai on March 3 and 4 in Mumbai. It will be attended by over 400 foreign delegates from over 60 countries.
India IT Show is supported by the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Innovation and value addition to software solutions are the main focus of the show, where around 150 Indian IT firms will display their solutions and products.
