Ghaziabad - Haneef was arrested and booked for the murder

In a suspected case of 'honour killing', a man smothered his 22-year-old daughter to death for allegedly eloping with her neighbour here, police said Sunday.
Rukhsaar, who lived at Sangam Park colony in Khoda area, married her neighbour Akram in a court, Superintendent of Police (city) Salman Taj Patil said.
When her father Haneef came to know, he smothered his daughter to death last night, he said.
The body was sent for postmortem.
Haneef was arrested and booked for the murder, the officer added.
