Divorce among Emirati nationals - if both the spouses are Emiratis - has gone down remarkably, according to a latest report released by the Dubai Statistics Centre.
According to a report published by Arabic daily Al Bayan on Saturday, the divorce rate in such cases was at 3.7 for every 1,000 Emiratis living in Dubai.
The Dubai Statistics Centre report has also revealed that the general divorce rate reported last year stood at 6 for every 1,000 Emiratis living in the emirate, when both spouses are Emiratis or one of the spouse is Emirati.

Beware of unreliable studies
The Dubai Statistics Centre warned that there are many 'unreliable' reports related to divorce rates in particular, which are being carried by mass media and studies.
These statistics released by unspecialised bodies have no sufficient information and inputs regarding the matter, and are not based on internationally approved scientific approaches.
The centre stresses that as such unreliable reports could give a negative impact on society, it is better to depend on the official figures being released by the authorised statistics centers whose outputs are more accurate and reliable.
However, the net divorce rate stood at 12.5 for every 1,000 married Emirati citizens in most cases when both spouses are Emirati citizens or if one of the spouse is Emirati.
Also last year, the net divorce rate among Emirati couples was 7.8 for every 1,000 married Emiratis in the emirate. When compared to the world rates, that is considered one of the highest divorce rates.
As for the marriage rate reported between 2013 and 2015 among Emiratis marrying their counterparts, it stood at 7.4 for every 1,000 Emiratis last year, while it was 8.3 and 8.4 in 2014 and 2013 respectively.
The marriage contracts registered last year in Dubai for an Emirati husband married to an Emirati woman reached 1,080; while it was 1,158 and 1,111 in 2014 and 2013 respectively.
For marriage contracts signed between an Emirati spouse and a non-Emirati, they came up to 763 marriage contracts in 2015; 881 contacts in 2014; and 790 contracts in 2013.
