Why we love Millie Bobby Brown

Do you know MIllie Bobby Brown? If you don't then you need to!

OK, we are making the huge assumption here that almost all of you have seen Stranger Things. If you haven't, you need to, now. The Netflix show has been a huge hit and fans are eagerly awaiting season two. Even if you aren't into a nostalgic 80's atmosphere or the sci-fi genre, then you need to watch it solely for the amazing performance of Millie Bobby Brown. To say she is incredible is an understatement. Given the fact that her character Eleven doesn't talk, Millie was acting with only saying a few words the whole season and still managed to express deep and extreme emotions. It got us (like the rest of the world) super curious about this talented actress and where she came from. If you're curious too, then read on!

Believe it or not Millie is British! This might shock some people given the times she does speak as Eleven on Stranger Things her accent is flawlessly American. Millie was born in Barcelona to British parents and lived in the UK before moving to the States to pursue her acting career. As a natural mimic, Millie picked up her impeccable American accent by watching movies on the Disney Channel.

Family First
Millie was determined to get into acting from a young age and her parents believed in her dream so much that they almost went broke trying to make it happen! They even had to borrow money from her manager. Millie's whole family, which includes her brother and a sister moved to Orlando in Florida in 2011. They are a pretty close knit family and have Sunday roast together every week and watch a film together right after.

In Demand!
Millie impressed almost every agent she met but it took one Hollywood talent scout to be so impressed with her that the whole family moved to Los Angeles to help her pursue more acting roles. It didn't take long for Millie to get her first break because after three months of being in Hollywood, Millie landed a role as Alice in Once Upon A Time In Wonderland and Modern Family!

The Break-Through Role
After not getting enough acting roles in the States Millie and her family were forced to move back to the UK. There, she got the call inviting her to audition for the role of Eleven in Stranger Things. Millie had to audition for the show using 'dummy slides' - which basically means, fake scenes used to test an actor's ability without actually giving away anything about the show's storyline. Because of that when Millie got the role of Eleven she didn't know anything about the character or the show!

Brave Millie!
This is crazy but the creators of Stranger Things forgot to mention to Millie and her family that she'd need to shave her head for the role of Eleven. Obviously Millie's mother wasn't pleased but Millie handled it like a pro!  She simply told her Mum to let them just cut it off because hair grows back In fact there's  a video of her actually shaving her head went viral!
