UAE and Australia discuss ways to boost trade ties

Dubai - The meeting discussed the possibility of establishing a joint economic committee to focus on cooperation in sectors vital for both countries with a setting up a mechanism to follow up on its decisions and recommendations.

Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri and an Australian parliamentary delegation have discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries, especially in the economic, trade and investment fields.
The Australian parliamentary delegation is currently visiting the country, headed by Teresa Gambaro, member of the Liberal National Party, with Maria Vamvakinou, Labour Party, Dr Sharman Stone, Liberal National Party and Senator Alex Gallacher, Labour Party.
The meeting discussed the possibility of establishing a joint economic committee to focus on cooperation in sectors vital for both countries with a setting up a mechanism to follow up on its decisions and recommendations.
The meeting, which was held in the office of the Ministry of Economy in Dubai, was attended by Mohammed Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Economy for Economic Affairs, and Pablo Kang, Ambassador of Australia, along with a number of senior officials from both countries.
