Universal Hospital affiliated to UBC World commissioned a new well-equipped state-of-the-art laboratory, which is technologically advanced for fast and accurate diagnostics running on a highly integrated RHIS computer system.
The laboratory, which is located in Wellness Tower 2 on the 7th floor, was inaugurated in the presence of Jamal Hussain Al Zaabi (UAE Consul General, Trivandrum and Kerala) and Fernando De Martini (Ambassador, Embassy of Argentina).
Speaking on the occasion Dr Shabeer Nellikode (founder and managing director) said that the application of leading-edge technology at this laboratory will provide precise diagnosis in a rapid turnaround time. The laboratory services at Universal Hospital pride itself on making diagnosis reliable and affordable for inpatient and outpatient testing and superior customer service.
The laboratory will provide services in clinical pathology investigations and anatomical pathology, following HAAD regulation rules and protocols. The turnaround time for the Universal laboratory will be one hour for urgent and STAT tests and four to 24 hours for routine tests. The scope of services of the laboratory includes biochemistry tests, liver function tests, renal function tests, hormones, serology, microbiological tests, anatomical pathology, blood banking and haematology studies.
Hamad A. Al Hosani (group chief operating officer) added that the laboratory services at Universal Hospital will provide services 24 hours a day and says days a week reporting results that help provide answers for physicians and patients.
