The Ministry of Economy has distributed charity vouchers worth Dh100,000 to Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, Ajman's Human Appeal International and Dubai's Dar Al Ber Society to support underprivileged people as part of the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day.
Other beneficiaries of the initiative include the ministry's low-income employees.
The Ministry of Economy's Under-Secretary for Economic Affairs, Mohammed Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, said the effort is in line with the ministry's social responsibility.
The UAE celebrates the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which falls on the 19th day of Ramadan every year, in memory of the founder of the state, the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who passed away on this day in 2004.
