Rain and hail continued to pound parts of the UAE on Thursday, causing some areas to flood, but the weather will clear up for the weekend, according to the National Center of Meterology and Seismology (NCMS).
Ras Al Khaimah's Al Qoor Valley - in which an Emirati woman and three children drowned on Wednesday - continues to be heavily flooded, and heavy rains persisted throughout parts of the emirate on Thursday.
Rain and hail were also reported in Umm al Quwain on Thursday, causing heavy traffic at times.
On Thursday, the NCMS noted that the weather was due to "towering clouds" which are associated with rain and fresh winds, especially in northern or eastern areas of the country.
Speaking to Khaleej Times, an NCMS spokesman said that the weather would clear up on Thursday evening and stabilize in time for the weekend.
"Thursday is the last day of this. After this, everything will settle down as the weather moves eastwards," he said.
