The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) have built a number of new roads leading to the Sharjah Book Authority at the Muweileh business area.
The construction of the 2.1km long road stood at Dh10 million, according to Eng. Yusuf Saleh Al Suwaihi, member of the Sharjah executive council and Chairman of RTA Sharjah.
"A number of one-way roads have been built to directly connect the premises of the Sharjah Book Authority with the nearby Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed road."
The two-lane roads are 7.3m long with 1m wide asphalt head shoulders on both sides, he added.
"Up to 180 car parking spaces along with a square have been built next to the main entrance for perfect traffic flow, let alone other necessary facilities."
The project, meant to enhance public safety and security, is in line with the directions of His Highness Dr. Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, he underlined.
"The new roads will give a boost to the road network of the emirate which are being built as per the highest international standards for the benefit of the residential areas and running them into modern compounds."
Indicating, they said that RTA Sharjah is more than ready to respond to customers' feedbacks and complaints. "RTA Sharjah Call Centre is reachable 24/7 at (600525252) for feedbacks, inquiries, remarks and complaints.
