A man who allegedly molested a 10-year-old boy and put his life at risk after dragging him into the sea while both were swimming off Jumeirah Open beach, has been arrested. The public prosecution referred him to the Dubai criminal court to stand trial on the charges of molestation and endangering other's life.
In its arraignment sheet, the public prosecution also charged him with drinking alcohol in public.
According to investigations, the mother of the 10-year-old boy said while she was at the beach with her husband, she saw the suspect, a Pakistani man, approaching her son. The boy was swimming, and the man tried to pull him down.
"He grabbed my baby, hugged him and molested him forcibly and tried to pull him down into the water six times. He did all this despite the boy's resistance. The accused was clutching him firmly," the woman claimed.
The woman then screamed for help and some beach-goers came to her son's rescue. The suspect was also caught.
The boy told the father that the suspect had sexually assaulted him while he was swimming. The man reported the matter to the police, and the man was arrested.
