When the earth shook

Most earthquakes occur on pre-existing tectonic lines. But there is always a correlation between the moon and earthquakes.
In general, there is a higher incidence of earthquake activity in the Northern Hemisphere when the moon is north of the equator. Monster earthquakes are going off all around the Pacific Ocean's ring of fire. The amount of devastation is unbelievable. Historical records show earthquakes became more frequent and much more intense during the 20th century. The Japanese earthquake was so powerful that it shifted the earth on its axis, in amounts estimated to be between 4 and 10 inches.
