Young actor Dulquer Salmaan bagged the best actor award while Parvathy adjudged the best actress in the 46th Kerala state film awards, announced by Minister for Cinema Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan here on Tuesday.
Ozhivu Divasathe Kali, directed by Sanalkumar Sasidharan has been selected as the best movie in 2015 by the 10-member jury headed by veteran filmmaker Mohan. The other jury members were George Kithu, A.L Vijay, Sulakshana, Sharath, B R Prasad, Dr Soman, Venugopal, Premchand, and CR Rajmohan.
Dulquer won the best actor award for his outstanding performance in Charlie, while Parvathy got the honour for her performances in Charlie and Ennu Ninte Moideen.
Charlie won as many as eight awards, including the best director's award for Martin Prakkat, followed by Ennu Ninte Moideen, directed by R S Vimal with seven awards.
Expressing happiness over the honour, Dulquer, son of super star Mammootty, said it will encourage him to perform better. However, he said that had a feeling that the award had come too early in his career.
Parvathy described the award as a milestone in her decade-long career. "The two films that brought the award were both great experiences for me. I am really grateful to all the cast and crew of these movies. In fact, I couldn't have made it without their support," she added.
