UAE's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has responded to reports regarding telecom companies charging Dh25 as late payment fee from subscribers from next month.
A notice issued by the TRA on Thursday said that after being alerted about the report circulating online - regarding Etisalat's announcement on "late-payment" fees, the authority immediately instructed the telecommunication company to stop sending such messages and posts.
Earlier on Wednesday, social media was abuzz about reports that Etisalat UAE will start charging fees on "late bill payment".
Etisalat has also been asked to submit relevant documents to charge these new fees.
TRA is awaiting an official reply to begin due procedures.
