WASHINGTON- US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Wednesday warned against any “unilateral steps” taken in the Israel-Palestinian dialogue, after Palestinians appealed to the UN over Jewish settlement building.
“Negotiations between the parties is the only means by which all of the outstanding claims arising out of the conflict can be resolved,” Clinton told reporters when asked about Palestinian plans to request the UN Security Council to address the issue of settlements which has deadlocked peace talks.
“We do not support unilateral steps by either party that could prejudge the outcome of such negotiations,” the top US diplomat said.
