A blanket of fog again covered the country on Monday morning leading to near-zero visibility and slow-moving traffic on the roads.
Many motorists said the conditions were worse than what they had encountered last week and they were forced to use their horns and headlights traffic slowed to a crawl on busy stretches like the Dubai-Sharjah Etihad Road, Shaikh Mohammned bin Zayed Road, and Shaikh Zayed Road to Abu Dhabi.
The fog slowly lifted from 8am and is expected to clear up completely by the afternoon. Motorists are being warned by the forecaster to be cautious and to slow down keeping in mind the conditions. The National Center for Meteorology and Seismology predicted cloud cover with hazy conditions and a chance of mist in the evening. Humidity levels are expected to rise and winds are expected to raise dust over some internal areas. News@khaleejtimes.com
