Video: UAE expatriates celebrate India's 70th Republic Day with patriotic fervour

Hundreds of Indians from across the UAE gathered at the Consulate General of India in Dubai in the early hours of Saturday, January 26 to celebrate India's 70th Republic Day.

The Indian national flag was hoisted by consul general of India to Dubai Vipul at the CGI at 8am as residents and visitors sang patriotic songs and took pictures alongside the Indian flag.

After the flag hoisting, Vipul greeted everyone gathered at the Consulate and read out the President Ram Nath Kovind's speech to the nation. He made a special mention and honored the two war heroes, and parents of war martyrs who presided over the flag hoisting ceremony.

Vipul said, "A cultural ceremony 'Bharat Parv' was celebrated last night (Friday, January 25). We are honoured to have the war heroes and parents of war martyrs in our midst."

Children and adults decked in traditional wear and the Indian tri-colours were seen waving miniature flags and celebrating the occasion.
