In the UAE, wishes do come true. Rayan Mohamed Yousif Al Khoury, a 10-year-old Emirati girl from Khor Fakkan, wanted to thank the Ruler of Sharjah for all that he had done for her hometown. So, she shared her message in a video, hoping it would reach him — and it did.
Not only did the video went viral and found its way to the Ruler. His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, also granted Rayan’s wish and personally met her.
During the video interview, Rayan said she was sincerely grateful to Sheikh Sultan for the several projects he had done for Sharjah. She also said she loved the epic film Khor Fakkan so much and was glad to see how her ancestors won the battle against the Portuguese who invaded her city.
“I know I won’t be able to meet you because I’m still too young but I hope you’ll be able to see this video and know how much I love you and the emirate of Sharjah,” Rayan said in Arabic.
The video was shared countless times online, eventually reaching Sheikh Dr Sultan.
The Sharjah Ruler met her and gave her a tour. She even got to sit beside him as he was signing a special certificate.
