Residents of Al Aweer neighbourhood had been evacuated after fire engulfed a shop in the area in Ras Al Khor Industrial area 1 off Ras Al Khor road.

Khaleej Times was at the scene when police and Dubai Civil Defense personnel arrived, within minutes after the fire broke out around 5.30pm. Further details are awaited. This is a developing story
