Ras Al Khaimah - The leak was immediately contained and operations were suspended

UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment announced on Wednesday that they had suspended operations at a cement factory in Ras Al Khaimah after a malfunction caused dust to spread across the area.
In a statement issued on social media, the ministry said,"A technical malfunction at the Union Cement Factory in Ras Al Khaimah has caused the spread of dust in the surrounding areas. The specialized teams of The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, in coordination with the Environmental Protection and Development Authority in Ras Al Khaimah, have been present in the area to ensure immediate solutions and safety of the general public.
All factory operations have been suspended as a precautionary measure. We call upon everyone in the affected area to take all precautions to avoid dust as much as possible."
Dr Saif Mohammed Al Ghais, Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency in Ras Al Khaimah, said that the accident was caused by a technical malfunction in one of the ovens, according to media reports.
