National holidays and long weekends witness a surge in travellers from the UAE, looking for a quick a getaway with friends and family. With the upcoming Eid Al Adha break on the horizon, German airline Lufthansa has revealed its list of the top 5 most popular destinations among UAE residents, looking to travel during the auspicious occasion.

Topping the list is London (UK), proving most popular with the residents. With autumn setting in during this time, temperatures in the capital city make it a great choice for outdoor activities and sightseeing. From the Totally Thames festival celebrating the River Thames, to acclaimed musicals, the city offers a variety of exciting options during this time.

Paris (France) and Rome (Italy) feature second and third, respectively, and are home to some of the world's most popular attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, and the Colosseum. Jazz lovers can enjoy the Jazz àla Villette concert series in Paris, which is spread across 14 days, while food lovers can enjoy authentic Italian food in Rome.

Rounding up the list are Barcelona (Spain) and Munich (Germany), which feature fourth and fifth, respectively, each with their distinct cultural and gastronomical offering, as well as home to some of the world most popular football clubs, serving as the ideal summer escape this Eid Al Adha.
