Dubai - The Dubai Police received a complaint from a man, who lives in the UAE for the last 30 years, against the gang.

Anti-Cyber Crime Section is investigating a case of an international gang targeting men, especially those who have managerial and administrative jobs. A gang member will get in touch with the person through social media and pose as a young woman, and share porn videos with the victim. When the victim takes off his clothes they record the video to blackmail him, demanding money to stop them from uploading the video on YouTube.
Recently, the Dubai Police received a complaint from a man, who lives in the UAE for the last 30 years, against the gang. The Dubai Police cooperated with other Arab countries to arrest the criminals. The police also sought cooperation from social media companies.Another case is against an Arab national who threatened a woman, whom he knew on Facebook, to publish her photos if she did not pay him Dh15,000.
After they received a complaint, the officials set a trap and caught the suspect red-handed while he was receiving the money from the woman.The Dubai Police received a complaint from a Syrian woman, who said she was being threatened by an unknown man. During investigation, it was found that the woman had befriended a man through Facebook, which reached up to a stage where they got engaged. When their relation broke up, he opened a new account on Facebook and then started threatening her. However, the police managed to arrest the suspect.
In Ajman, reported cases involved a female college student who befriended a gulf national via social media. They exchanged pictures and the man convinced the girl that he would marry her and asked her to send him her nude pictures. However, when he asked her for cybersex through webcam, she refused and he threatened to post her nude pictures on Facebook. The girl reported the case to the police, who arrested the man and asked him to marry the girl.
However, she refused to marry him.In another case in Ajman, a young girl reported about a man who befriended her on Facebook with a fake profile of a woman. The profile had a feminine name profile picture. The girl said she confirmed it was a woman after talking to the accused as his voice sounded womanish.
He talked several times with the girl over the phone and convinced her to send him her personal pictures. After receiving the picture, he revealed his identity, asking her for sex. He threatened the girl that if she didn't act according to his will, he would circulate her picture via Facebook and WhatsApp.
The girl reported the matter to the police and the accused was arrested, said Dr Al Suwaidi.In a third case in Ajman, a 35-year-old GCC national complained against an Arab woman who threatened him to publish his nude pictures on social media unless he paid her Dh10,000. According to Dr Al Suwaidi, the complainant, a married man, met her on Facebook and she offered to send her nude pictures and to have cybersex in return for his photos.
After receiving his photos, she asked him to pay the money. When he refused to pay, the woman threatened to post his conversation with her and pictures on various social media platforms.
