Two exemplary taxi drivers were awarded by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) for their honesty, good moral and professional service on Monday.
Abdullah Al Mahri, director of transport activities monitoring, told Khaleej Times that one cabbie was cited for his prompt response to a handicapped customer who called the RTA call centre and the other taxi driver was honoured for returning Dh7,000 cash and a wallet with important cards to a tourist from a GCC country.
"An old lady called us and she said she was very pleased by the service of Mohammed Kashif who works for Dubai Taxi," Al Mahri said. "The old lady, who is also handicapped, recently called the call centre and after five minutes a taxi was ready to pick her up. She praised the prompt response but she was more impressed by the good conduct and professional service by Kahsif who thoroughly assisted her."
"The other taxi driver is Abdul Raheem Fadhl who works at National Taxi. He returned Dh7,000 cash and a wallet with important cards to a visiting GCC national who praised the honesty and work ethic of Fadhl," added Al Mahri.
The duo were awarded certificates of appreciation and material gifts by the RTA, according to Al Mahri.
"They did such an amazing and inspiring job and the RTA are proud of them. They proved that, at the RTA, we always try to provide such unique and smart transport services with great regard for safety and satisfaction of all our riders," Al Mahri underlined.
Al Mahri also noted that the RTA recently conducted a brainstorming session how to further improve customer satisfaction and add value to RTA services.
