Abu Dhabi has launched the "Together We Are Good" programme to receive financial contributions and volunteering offers to support in the current situation amid the global spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The new initiative, launched under the Authority for Social Contribution - Ma-an, will receive, coordinate and direct financial and in-kind contributions and offers to volunteer, reinforcing social cohesion among nationals and residents in light of the current circumstances.
"The programme's proceeds will be mainly directed towards medical and educational aid and food supplies, as well as anything that will benefit the community," the authority said on Twitter.
"The programme will be a channel for the community to show the strength of solidarity, cohesion and cooperation."
Contributions will be directed according to priorities and in cooperation with relevant partners, said officials.
"This is the time for us to show the strength of our solidarity and unanimity, our cohesion and cooperation by offering a helping hand for everyone in our society," the authority added.
People can send their financial contributions through text messages on du and Etisalat, or through WhatsApp messages (0543055366), phone call (8005-Maan) or through the authority's direct account transfer.
