An array of events and fun activities will mark the first phase of Abu Dhabi Moments across the five districts of the Capital till December.
Abu Dhabi Moments was inaugurated by Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Office on Wednesday.
Spread across Al Reem Island, Downtown, Corniche, Al Hudayriat and Al Bateen districts, the event will cater to different interests of people including art, music, sport, culture, food, retail and sustainability.
Al Reem Festival in Reem Central Park (October 17 to 19), Diwali Night Market in Capital Park (October 25 to 27), Poetry at Al Bateen Majilis (October 29 and November 19), Flower Market at Al Marasy Marina (November 2 and December 7), Artisan Market at Boutik Mall Gardens (November 22), Str-eat Feast in Electra Park (December 6 and 7) and Barbeque Cookout in Al Bateen Area (December 27) are some of the events to be hosted at popular hubs. Then there's drive-in cinema, constellation nights, sports and water adventure at Hudayriat Island.
Mazen Jaber Al Dahmani, director of sports division at the Department of Community Development, said the initiatives are part of the Abu Dhabi Development Accelerator Programme - Ghadan 21. The event aims to celebrate diversity, build unity among residents and bring joy to the community.
"We want feedback from everyone on what they enjoyed and didn't, so that we can improve," said Al Nashyan, urging residents to register at www.abudhabimoments.ae and check full calendar of events.
Residents can get a taste of what's in store with activations like virtual reality moon walk, winter arts, Halloween, songs, dances and Fun till Friday at Abu Dhabi Moments Tent raised next to Nation Towers on Corniche from 4pm to 10pm.
