Fancy Dubai car number plates sold for Dh31.55 million

A fancy vehicle number plate (R 13) in Dubai was sold for a whopping Dh3.8 million during an open auction on Saturday. Another one (W 69) fetched Dh2.42 million, while (AA 18) went for Dh1.9 million and (O 55555)for Dh1.85 million.
In all, the auction raised Dh31.55 million, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said on Sunday.
The RTA offered 90 fancy plates for bidding in this auction, comprising of two-, three-, four- and five-digit plates.
