Mate 20 Pro - new benchmark of smartphone photography at the Hamdan International Photography Award (HIPA)

Seeking the hidden magic in the everyday and ordinary, the Hamdan International Photography Award (HIPA) has made its return, now in its eighth successful season. Partnering up with Huawei on this artistic journey, the theme HIPA has embraced this season is 'Hope'. Participants from around the globe have dusted off their photography notes and roused their inner eye awake in pursuit of their next masterpiece. Panning past the 'Moments' and 'Challenges' of yesteryears, HIPA seeks to shine a pixelated light on the universal dialogue that is 'Hope', calling for us to come together mind and heart towards a brilliant future. Dubai is a city that brims with this sentiment and you're sure to stumble upon an entry snapped among its shimmering pathways. HIPA offers the chance to juggle eye-popping, vibrant hues or experiment with monochrome scenery under its range of categories. A soaring delight for participants is the inclusion of 'Aerial Photography' this season keeping in line with the developing trends of the hour. The Grand Prize is set for USD $120,000 across all categories.

In the Huawei spirit of  'making it possible', the Android giant has joined in on the fun with its exclusive region-wide Instagram photo contest. Huawei users - professionals and amateurs alike - can capture shots around town featuring a diverse collection of cultural takes or cityscapes, nighttime or nature scenery. And, the Mate 20 Pro users can go all out with their triple-lens camera including a 40MP standard lens with an f/1.8 aperture, a 20MP ultra wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and an 8MP telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture and OIS.  The telephoto lens also packs a 3x optical zoom and alongside the stabilization, it can ensure that you rack up a gallery of JPEG wonders.
The competition lasts for a month from January 15^th to February 15^th, and participants can post their pictures up on Instagram with the hashtag #HUAWEIxHIPA to be judged by the HIPA panel.
